Why these calculators exist
Counting days sounds simple until the rules get specific. Is it any 180 days or a calendar year? Does the day you fly out count? What about a trip that crosses New Year? Getting it wrong can mean an overstay, a refused citizenship application or an unexpected tax bill.
Each calculator here applies the counting method the relevant authority actually uses:
- Schengen counts entry and exit days as days in the Schengen Area.
- USCIS, the UK Home Office, IRCC and Australia's Home Affairs treat departure and return days as days in the country.
- Rolling-window rules are checked for every possible window, not just calendar years.
Your privacy
Travel history is personal. Your trips are saved only in your own browser so they are there when you come back, and they are never uploaded to us. Related calculators share the same list. For example, the UK ILR and British citizenship tools use one list of UK absences, so you only type your trips once.
These tools give estimates and are not legal or tax advice. Always check official guidance before you apply or travel.
